"It's a sad sort of person who thinks keeping dogs from getting hurt is stupid." Insult for insult, though Yoichi's might be rather milder than outright calling someone else an idiot. He liked dogs. Well, he liked cats too.. honestly just about anything pettable was alright in his book, but there didn't seem to be many other pets in Trench besides dogs. "Is that what passes for villainy these days? Sulking in doorways and hurting dogs?"

His tone doesn't make it a rebuke, and it isn't one, exactly. While thanks to All For One's ongoing efforts at being a domineering asshole means Shigaraki might know what Yoichi looks like on sight, it doesn't work the other way around. He has no idea who he's looking for besides a name. "But if it's just to keep your pup contained, I'll help you build some kind of a fence. I read a half a chapter on it once."

It sure looks like a dog to him. That left one of the many doglike things around here, or! "Oh, is it your Omen, then?"

In that case, he's being really rude, and the dog is addressed next. "Sorry, hello. I didn't realize, you look remarkably like a normal dog." They're intelligent, they're capable of communication if they so choose, and he tends to treat them like people as soon as he knows they're Omens. Where's his own?

Hiding until needed.

Tomura is studied then, with evident interest and not a trace of unease or disquiet. Yoichi's is the confidence of someone utterly convinced that he can't be permanently harmed or killed until certain events happen, and that hasn't happened yet, therefore everything MUST turn out fine! "Shigaraki Yoichi," is the prompt answer. "Or Hydrakeeper if you prefer usernames. Though I'd been told you'd already know that. You do look like a Shigaraki, if nothing else! You've the hair and eyes for it. And the build, if you ignore myself and Father." Something almost impish creeps into his tone. "Are you SURE we're not related?"

"...Huh, I admit I pegged him as more of a Chaotic Good, though he might still be convinced he's Lawful." That's confirmation enough as to who it is, surely! He finishes getting all the glass off the walkway, satisfied with that task, and picks up his still frozen pack. There's no point in letting anything rot in the mild warmth of a spring day. "I'm sure you'll disagree on principle alone but I find his enthusiasm and concern really endearing."

His smile is brief. "Don't worry, I haven't told anyone I'm visiting your secret lair." Anyone at all, which is probably not the smartest of ideas, but for all that it's likely incredibly foolish, Yoichi trusts his sense of people.

If Tomura wanted him dead, he wouldn't be standing here right now, he'd be squeaking around in the ocean trying to reorient eight tentacles again.

There's a slight shrug from Yoichi, who seems bemused more than put out or bothered by it. They're foes, aren't they? .. For now. It's reasonable Izuku and Tomura don't like or trust each other.

"Who would I tell?" He obeys nonetheless, with all the guileless lack of concern of either the tremendously ignorant or the tremendously confident. With Yoichi it really could swing either way. "Besides which, I'm not here to bring people beating on your door. I'm here for lunch."

He knows how his brother's power works. He knows Tomura has that power, but he doesn't seem to hesitate passing through the doorway that close to his nephew-by-adoption. "Please tell me you're okay with clams. I did catch a crab and a really tiny lobster but mostly, it's clams." Every moment that passes is, however, a moment Yoichi is weighing the situation with far more care than it seems. He makes his judgments for himself, and a lot can be determined simply through observation. What kind of person is his brother's successor, truly? "...And seaweed."

"Clams! I found a couple good beds when the tide goes out, but never have enough energy to dig a lot up at once." And the seaweed but that sort of washes itself up no matter what he does, and thorough trial and error has determined which ones are tasty, and which ones are toxic.

Poor omen, left outside. That's something he'd have to approach at some point, to find out why Tomura's rejecting his own spirit animal, but right now is apparently not the time to do it. Later on ... dog befriending. That there's a fridge and a kitchen sets him to hunting; unfamiliar layouts in strange homes and all, but he finds what he's looking for quickly enough, and by the ice on countertop thud, is going to get to work pretty promptly. "Did your simp make the stew, then? Does this simp have a name?" Sounds like a friend, if they're making Shigaraki food!

And he's going to start hunting for a knife. Clams require a bit of work, as do seaweeds, and the implication all along was that he'd do what he could to make a decent meal! If Tomura objected, or sought to do him harm.. well, there's not much Yoichi could do to stop him. "I expected horns and hooves or something, after all that hell talk." This place looks pretty normal! Tomura looks like a Shigaraki, he's been deceived.
